Book Review

“Rattu and Poorie’s Adventures in History: Animals in Art” by Parvati Sharma, with illustrations by Meghna Menon, turns history into a fun and surprising adventure. Rattu and Poorie start with perfectly normal days at home, at the beach and in the park, but things soon get strange when animals from the past suddenly appear! A brave hunting hound has a story to tell, while a bull, a unicorn and a tiger seem to leap straight out of ancient Indus Valley seals. And just when you think things cannot get more exciting, a gloomy dodo and two lovestruck saras cranes arrive with stories from Emperor Jahangir’s royal court.
